Eligibility
- <ul><li>Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university for Civil Services; 10+2 pass with Physics & Math (for Air Force/Navy) in NDA.</li><li>Age Limit: 21 to 32 years for IAS/IPS (with relaxations for OBC/SC/ST); 16.5 to 19.5 years for NDA unmarried male/female candidates.</li><li>Attempts: Maximum 6 attempts for General category in CSE (9 for OBC, unlimited for SC/ST up to age limit).</li></ul>

What is the qualification and age limit?
Graduation is required for Civil Services (age 21-32 years), and 12th pass is required for NDA (age 16.5-19.5 years).
What is the exam pattern and negative marking?
UPSC CSE comprises Prelims (Objective), Mains (Descriptive subjective papers), and Personality Test (Interview). There is a 1/3rd negative marking in Prelims.
What is the starting in-hand salary?
Starting basic salary for IAS/IPS officers is Rs. 56,100 (Level 10) plus DA, TA, and government accommodation benefits, resulting in total in-hand emoluments of approx Rs. 95,000+ per month.
