Frequently asked questions
What is 'Freeze', 'Float', and 'Slide' in JoSAA?
Freeze means accepting the allotted seat. Float means accepting the seat but keeping options open for higher preference in any institute. Slide means keeping options open for higher preference within the same allotted institute.
Can I participate in JoSAA if I missed Round 1 registration?
No, initial registration is mandatory in the opening window. You cannot register fresh in later rounds except for CSAB special rounds.
Is seat acceptance fee refundable?
Part of the fee is refunded after deducting processing charges if you exit or do not report, as per JoSAA business rules.
What happens if I don't pay the seat acceptance fee?
Your allocated seat will be cancelled, and you will not be considered for further regular JoSAA rounds.
