UPSC CSE 2027: Notification 13 Jan, Prelims 23 May, Eligibility & Pattern
UPSC CSE (Civil Services Examination) selects IAS, IPS, IFS and 20+ other Group A and B services. It has three stages: Prelims (objective), Mains (9 descriptive papers) and Interview. CSE 2027: notification 13 January 2027, last date 2 February, Prelims 23 May 2027, Mains from 20 August 2027. Graduates aged 21–32 (General) can apply; fee ₹100.

Final merit = Mains 1750 + Interview 275 = 2025 marks. Prelims has one-third negative marking.
UPSC syllabus in short
- Prelims GS I: current events, history of India and Indian National Movement, Indian and world geography, polity and governance, economic and social development, environment and ecology, general science.
- CSAT: comprehension, logical reasoning, decision making, basic numeracy (Class 10), data interpretation.
- Mains GS I–IV: Indian heritage and culture, history, geography; governance, constitution, social justice, international relations; technology, economy, environment, security, disaster management; ethics, integrity and aptitude.
- Optional: one subject from the UPSC list (e.g. PSIR, Sociology, Geography, Anthropology, Maths).
7-month plan for Prelims 2027 (November 2026 to May 2027)
- Nov–Dec: NCERTs (Class 6–12 History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Science) + one standard book per subject (Laxmikanth for Polity, Spectrum for Modern History).
- Jan–Feb: fill the form on 13 January; finish the standard books, start a daily current-affairs compilation and solve 10 years of Prelims PYQs.
- Mar–Apr: one full mock every 3 days; revise notes; CSAT practice twice a week (many aspirants fail CSAT).
- May: revision only. Last 12 months of current affairs, maps, government schemes.

UPSC 2027 ka form kab aayega?
UPSC calendar 2027 ke anusaar Civil Services notification 13 January 2027 ko aayegi aur last date 2 February 2027 hai. Prelims 23 May 2027 ko hai.
UPSC ke liye age limit aur attempts kya hain?
Age 21–32 years as on 1 August 2027 (General), 35 for OBC, 37 for SC/ST. Attempts: General 6, OBC 9, SC/ST unlimited till the age limit. EWS: 6 attempts, age 32.
Kya final-year student UPSC Prelims de sakta hai?
Yes. Final-year students can write Prelims; the degree certificate is needed with the Mains application form.
UPSC Prelims me kitne paper hote hain?
Two: GS Paper I (100 questions, 200 marks) and CSAT (80 questions, 200 marks, qualifying with 33%). Both on the same day, one-third negative marking.
IAS ke liye kaunsi degree chahiye?
Any graduation degree from a recognised university. Stream, marks or college do not matter.
UPSC fee kitni hai?
₹100 for General, OBC and EWS men. Women, SC, ST and PwBD candidates pay no fee.
